Lamar Jackson: Optimism in Baltimore for the Crucial Game Against the Steelers
Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed optimism about Lamar Jackson’s participation in Sunday’s decisive game against the Steelers, valid for the AFC North title. Jackson, who has been dealing with a back contusion, returned to training on Wednesday and participated fully. This was his first practice in twelve days, as he did not play last Saturday against Green Bay due to an injury.Jackson suffered the injury in the defeat against the Patriots on December 21, after receiving a knee to the back during a run. During Wednesday’s practice, it was observed that Jackson might be using additional protection in the midsection. In the final game of the regular season, the Ravens (8-8) will face the Steelers (9-7) in search of the AFC North title, the fourth seed in the AFC, and a home game in the wild card round. The losing team will see their season come to an end. Jackson has struggled in the games played in Pittsburgh, losing three of four games at Acrisure Stadium, where he has been sacked 18 times, thrown six interceptions, and only managed three touchdown passes.“He looked good. I’m very optimistic [that he’ll play on Sunday], and we’ll see how the rest of the week goes,” Harbaugh said.

This season has been marked by injuries for Jackson, who has dealt with hamstring, knee, ankle, toe, and back problems. The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player averages 192.6 passing yards per game this season, ranking 26th in the NFL, and 28.3 rushing yards per game, the lowest figure of his eight-year career. Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton stated that no one should question Jackson’s toughness.“I think the Steelers in the past have been a team that has always been like a knife in our side, especially for him. And I think he’ll be more than ready to play if he’s out there on Sunday,” Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey commented.

“I’ve been around this guy for the last four years, and I know what he’s about. I know he leads by example, and if he can get out there, play and practice, he will. He’s a warrior, and I respect him,” Hamilton said.
