Odell Beckham Jr. Receives Six-Game Suspension for Violation of Drug Policy

Star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended for six games due to a violation of the NFL’s drug policy, delaying his expected return to the field. The announcement of the suspension was made by Beckham himself during an interview on the podcast “The Pivot Podcast”, which was published on Tuesday.

Beckham, who is currently a free agent, revealed that he failed a drug test last season while playing for the Miami Dolphins.

Beckham has insisted that he did not intentionally consume any prohibited substance. The player, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, also stated that, when asking the league about the specific substance for which he tested positive, he was informed that “his testosterone levels were too high”. The suspension will appear in the official NFL transaction log on Tuesday, which will start the six-week countdown before Beckham is eligible to play. Beckham, who will turn 33 at the end of the suspension, reiterated his desire to return to the NFL this season. During the interview, he mentioned four teams he would be interested in playing for: the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Kansas City Chiefs, and two of his former teams, the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants. Beckham was released by the Dolphins last December after failing to make a significant impact in nine games, where he accumulated nine receptions for 55 yards.
