Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette was involved in an incident that resulted in his ejection during Friday night’s preseason game. The 2024 draft’s first-round pick appeared to connect on several hits against the Browns’ Rayshawn Jenkins during a running play. The incident occurred in the first preseason game for both teams, which Cleveland won 30-10. Jenkins, who removed Legette’s helmet while the receiver continued blocking after the play appeared to have ended, was also disqualified.
Panthers coach Dave Canales was right in front of the play. Legette was not in the locker room after the game, but he apologized in a social media post.We asked our receivers to finish the play with their hands. He did it. He had his hands on the guy the whole time. After the whistle, the guy swung and chopped his arm. Xavier just held onto his jersey.
