Lamar Jackson Battles Injuries and Seeks to Regain His Top Form

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is facing a new injury for the third consecutive week, continuing a streak that tests his physique. Jackson did not participate in Monday’s light training due to a toe injury. This is the latest in a series of injuries for Jackson, who missed a practice two weeks ago due to knee discomfort and another last week due to an ankle injury.

Okay.

John Harbaugh, Ravens coach
Although Jackson hasn’t missed any games during this injury-filled month, his performance hasn’t been that of a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player. Jackson is going through the worst moment of his eight-year career. For the first time, he has recorded a completion percentage below 60% and less than 200 yards in three consecutive games. Coach Harbaugh commented that “he really can’t say” if these injuries have affected Jackson’s game.

I am always proud of him. He is playing winning football. He is working very hard every week to be prepared and ready to play. He is doing everything he can to win the game.

Despite Jackson’s difficulties, the Ravens (6-5) have won five straight games and are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North. This season, Jackson has thrown 15 touchdowns and three interceptions, with a QBR of 63.3, ranking 11th in the league. He has been sacked 24 times, one more than last season’s total. Last month, Jackson missed three games due to a hamstring injury. He returned four weeks ago, but hasn’t shown his best form. After the 23-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, Jackson was asked if he had felt completely healthy since his return.

I can’t say, but I’m out there, so I feel like I should still be able to do what I do.
