Lamar Jackson Battles Injuries, But Ravens Remain Resilient

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is facing a new injury, marking the third consecutive week with physical issues. Jackson did not participate in Monday’s light training due to a toe injury. This adds to the knee discomfort that kept him out of a practice two weeks ago and the ankle injury he suffered last week.

Okay.

Despite these injuries, Jackson hasn’t missed any games, although his performance hasn’t been that of the two-time NFL Most Valuable Player. Currently, he is going through the worst moment of his eight-year career. For the first time, he has not reached 60% passing efficiency and 200 yards in three consecutive games. Coach Harbaugh avoided answering whether injuries have affected Jackson’s game.

I am always proud of him. He is playing winning football. He works very hard every week to be prepared and ready to play. He is doing everything he can to win the game.

Despite Jackson’s challenges, the Ravens (6-5) have won five straight games and are tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North. This season, Jackson has 15 touchdowns and three interceptions, with a QBR of 63.3, ranking 11th in the league. He has been sacked 24 times, one more than in the entire last season. Last month, Jackson missed three games due to a hamstring injury. He returned four weeks ago, but his performance hasn’t been the same. After the 23-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, Jackson was asked if he felt completely healthy since his return. “I can’t say, but I’m in the field, so I feel like I should still be able to do what I do,” Jackson replied. The Ravens will host the Cincinnati Bengals on Thanksgiving Day. Jackson has a 10-1 record against the Bengals, with a total of 24 touchdowns and four interceptions.
