Justin Fields Suffers Injury in Jets Training
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was carted off the practice field Thursday morning with an apparent lower leg injury.
Fields was injured after rolling to the right and attempting a short incomplete pass to tight end Jeremy Ruckert. The player collapsed, sat on the ground for a moment, and then limped off the field with the help of a trainer.
After spending a few minutes in the injury tent, a cart arrived. Fields was taken to the locker room, sitting in the passenger seat of the cart, before entering the team facilities.
Fields, who signed a two-year, $40 million contract as a free agent, is the undisputed starter for the Jets. Tyrod Taylor replaced him in team drills.
