Emeka Egbuka, Buccaneers Receiver, Ready to Face the Jets

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka is expected to play on Sunday against the New York Jets, according to sources close to the team.

Egbuka, who is questionable due to hip and groin issues, has been a key piece in the Buccaneers’ attack.

Selected in the 19th position of the draft, Egbuka has proven his worth by tying for the league lead with three touchdown receptions in just two games.

The player missed two days of practice this week, but returned on Friday, albeit with limitations. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles confirmed this information.

In case Egbuka can’t play, the team relies on other receivers like Ryan Miller, who scored the first touchdown on Monday night in Houston, as well as Sterling Shepard, rookie Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson.

The Buccaneers have started the last three seasons with a 2-0 record, but they haven’t achieved a 3-0 start since 2005.
