INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Blake Freeland was carted off the field due to a right leg injury during Saturday’s preseason game against Green Bay.
Freeland’s injury occurred early in the second quarter, during a running play on third and one. At the end of the play, his right leg got trapped under the pile of players, causing Freeland to fall to the ground.
The trainers immediately put a boot on his leg. When Freeland was put on the stretcher, his teammates came over to encourage him. Minutes later, it was announced that he was out of the game.
Freeland was expected to be the backup to Braden Smith at right tackle. Freeland is a third-year veteran from Brigham Young.
