Browns Cut Ogbo Okoronkwo: End of the Pass Rusher Era in Cleveland

The Cleveland Browns have announced the release of defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo this Thursday.

The player, who had one year remaining on his three-year, $19 million contract signed in 2023, is leaving the team.

After learning the news, Okoronkwo expressed his gratitude to the Browns and their fans through a post on X, where he wrote: “Love to the Land!”.

Okoronkwo, 30 years old, accumulated 7.5 sacks, 54 tackles, and a forced fumble in 30 games during his two seasons with the Browns, starting in five of them.

Selected in the fifth round of the 2018 draft by the Los Angeles Rams, Okoronkwo has 17 sacks in six seasons.

In a related move, the Browns have signed kicker Andre Szmyt.
