In a day full of emotions, Mark Andrews, tight end for the Baltimore Ravens, not only set a new receiving yards record for the franchise, but also starred in an unexpected play that proved crucial to his team’s victory. In the game against the Cleveland Browns, Andrews, through a play called “Hurricane”, surprised everyone with a 35-yard run that culminated in a touchdown. This score proved to be the decisive one in the Ravens’ comeback, who won 23-16. The Ravens’ bold decision to run this play at a critical moment, with the score tied and only 2:39 remaining in the final quarter, demonstrated the team’s confidence in their strategy and in Andrews’ ability.
Andrews, who has built his career on being Lamar Jackson’s favorite target in the aerial game, surpassed Derrick Mason to become the Ravens’ all-time receiving yards leader with an 11-yard catch in the first quarter. Andrews’ touchdown run was a historic moment, as it was his first rushing touchdown in his professional career. Before this play, Andrews had only accumulated 21 rushing yards on 15 attempts. Ravens coach John Harbaugh revealed he was expecting a first down, but the play execution was perfect. Andrews, seeing the open field, accelerated and reached a top speed of 20.09 mph.It was the perfect scenario to pull off that play.

In the game, Andrews had the option to do a “sneak” up the middle, but he stuck to the play and followed the block of Patrick Ricard, who cleared the way for Andrews to reach the end zone untouched. Before the game, Andrews needed only 4 yards to reach the record, and with the catch he managed to accumulate 5,785 yards in his career. The previous record belonged to Derrick Mason, who accumulated 5,777 yards for the Ravens between 2005 and 2010.Mark activated the thrusters too.

The Ravens (5-5) have achieved four consecutive victories after a complicated start to the season and are one game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4), leaders of the AFC North.I am extremely grateful.
