Stephon Castle of the Spurs Evaluated for Injury

San Antonio Spurs player Stephon Castle will be reevaluated in one to two weeks due to a hip flexor strain, according to sources close to the team.

Castle, who is shaping up to be one of the most outstanding rookies of the 2024-25 season, suffered the injury during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. The player was unable to participate in the second half of the match.

Castle himself, after the match, commented in the locker room that he felt some discomfort, but could not specify the exact moment when the injury occurred.

At 21 years old, Castle has shown outstanding performance in the league, averaging 17.3 points, 7.5 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. Alongside his teammate, Victor Wembanyama, who is also injured, they achieved triple-doubles in the November 12th loss against the Golden State Warriors.

This performance made Castle and Wembanyama the fifth pair in NBA history and the first in Spurs history to achieve a 20-point triple-double in the same game.

Jordan McLaughlin with Hamstring Injury

In other injury-related news, the Spurs reported that veteran point guard Jordan McLaughlin underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed a strain in his right hamstring. McLaughlin suffered the injury during a workout at the Victory Capital Performance Center.
