Thomas Sorber, Thunder Rookie, Suffers Knee Injury and Misses Season

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Thomas Sorber has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee, which will prevent him from playing during the 2025-26 season, the team announced.

Sorber, selected at the 15th pick of the draft from Georgetown, was injured during a training session in Oklahoma City on Thursday.

This will be the second consecutive season in which a first-round Oklahoma City player misses the entire season due to an ACL tear. Point guard Nikola Topic, selected 12th overall in 2024, was recovering from surgery when the Thunder drafted him in the lottery.

Sorber averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game as a freshman at Georgetown last season.
