Jalen Suggs of the Magic Suffers Knee Contusion
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his right knee during Friday’s loss to the Chicago Bulls. The team announced on Saturday that Suggs’ recovery time will depend on how he responds to treatment.
Suggs has had injury problems throughout his NBA career. Recently, he had returned after missing seven games due to a left hip contusion.
Suggs is a key player for Orlando’s success, thanks to his ability to both score and defend, as well as being one of the team’s leaders. Last season, he was only able to participate in 35 games and underwent arthroscopic surgery in March to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee.
The Magic, who before Saturday night’s games had a 19-16 record and occupied eighth place in the Eastern Conference, have also been without their star, forward Franz Wagner, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain he suffered on December 7.
