Previously, James had publicly expressed his interest in this possibility. In a 2022 episode of his digital show “The Shop”, James stated: “I want a team in Las Vegas. I want the team in Las Vegas.” However, now, with a vote scheduled at next week’s board of governors meeting to approve the advancement of the bidding process for franchises in Las Vegas and Seattle, James has confirmed that he has no intention of being part of the process. Industry executives expect proposals in the range of $7 billion to $10 billion for each expansion franchise.
