Malcolm Brogdon Bolsters Knicks with One-Year Deal
Free agent point guard Malcolm Brogdon has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Knicks, according to his agent Sam Permut of Roc Nation.
In his tenth season in the NBA, Brogdon, who was recognized as the Sixth Man of the Year, will provide depth and playmaking at the point guard position for the Knicks.
Brogdon is expected to have an important role in the team’s rotation, under the direction of the new coach.
Brogdon joins Landry Shamet, who also signed a one-year contract, to strengthen the Knicks’ roster.
In the previous season, playing for the Washington Wizards, Brogdon averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds in 24 games.
Despite his low three-point percentage last season, Brogdon shot 43% from three-point range between 2022 and 2024, ranking among the league’s best in that period.
Brogdon was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2016-17 and Sixth Man of the Year in 2022-23, being one of two players in NBA history to obtain both awards.
In the last three seasons, he has played for the Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers, and Boston Celtics. Previously, he split his first six seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers.
