Michael Jordan Honors His Mother with Million-Dollar Donation
The legendary basketball player and businessman, Michael Jordan, has made a generous donation of 10 million dollars to a regional medical center in North Carolina. This noble gesture honors the memory of his mother, Deloris Jordan. The donation announcement was made last Tuesday at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. As a token of appreciation, the medical center will name its neuroscience institute in honor of Deloris Jordan.Jordan’s significant economic contribution will support his mother’s work in the field of health and well-being. Specifically, it will seek to improve access to specialists, technology, and medical care for patients facing problems such as strokes, spinal treatments, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other neurological conditions. Deloris Jordan, founder and president of the James R. Jordan Foundation and its namesake international foundation, has overseen programs in the United States and Africa. She expressed her humility at being part of the initiative to provide high-quality care to more people in North Carolina. A dedication ceremony is planned for early 2026 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. My mother taught me the importance of compassion and community, and I can’t think of a better way to honor her than by helping to ensure that those in need can get the most advanced neurological care available.
