Hawks Send Kobe Bufkin to the Nets

The Atlanta Hawks have finalized a deal to trade guard Kobe Bufkin to the Brooklyn Nets, according to sources. The transaction is made in exchange for financial considerations.

Bufkin, selected in the 15th position of the 2023 NBA draft by the Hawks, has a salary of 5.4 million dollars for next season. In addition, there is a team option for 6.9 million dollars for the 2026-27 season.

This move provides flexibility in the Hawks’ roster and grants them a $4.5 million trade exception. For 21-year-old Bufkin, it represents a fresh opportunity in Brooklyn.

The Nets, after this trade, have 11.6 million dollars of salary cap space and have 15 players with guaranteed contracts.

In the last two seasons, Bufkin played in 27 games with the Hawks. In the G League, during the 2023-24 season, he averaged 23.6 points in 14 games.
