Pacers Fan Invited by Tyrese Haliburton After New York Incident

A fan of the Indiana Pacers, who was the target of trash bag throwing and booing for wearing a Tyrese Haliburton jersey on the streets of New York City, has received a special invitation.

Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton extended the invitation to attend Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Indianapolis.

Hans Pérez, who identified himself as a firefighter and lifelong Pacers fan, was surprised by the news during his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”. He showed a Pacers tattoo on his wrist.

“Everyone in our organization wants to make sure you’re taken care of,” Haliburton said on a video call from Indianapolis after the team’s practice on Monday. “The whole team is excited to meet you. It’s all we’ve been talking about.”

Pérez was chased by a crowd of Knicks fans, who were celebrating Friday’s victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

After being hit twice with garbage bags, Pérez continued walking while the crowd followed and booed him. The incident went viral on social media.

Both Haliburton and McAfee expressed their sympathy for Pérez’s situation and invited him, along with a companion, to Game 4 in Indiana next Tuesday.

Pérez agradeció a Haliburton y comenzó un cántico de “¡Vamos Pacers!”.

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between New York and Indiana will begin Wednesday night in New York.
