Despite averaging 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists, he didn’t look like the player who competed for the MVP in previous seasons. Now, with his performance on Friday, and barring setbacks, he is expected to participate in the season opener next week in Boston. On the team, VJ Edgecombe also stood out with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals, solidifying his position in the starting lineup. Quentin Grimes, for his part, made his preseason debut with 22 points. Paul George is still recovering from knee surgery and is not expected to play at the start of the season.
