Andre Drummond Will Exercise Option with the 76ers
Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond has decided to exercise his player option for $5 million for the 2025-26 season, according to sources close to the situation.
Drummond played an important role last season, playing almost 19 minutes per game, especially during the absence of Joel Embiid, the 76ers’ starting center, who missed a large part of the season.
In those minutes, Drummond averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, with 50% field goal efficiency.
This decision comes after the 76ers selected Johni Broome from Auburn in the second round of the NBA draft on Thursday, thus adding another player for the center position.
Drummond signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the 76ers last summer. This is his second stint in Philadelphia, as he also played the first half of the 2021-22 season with the team before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets as part of the deal for James Harden.
