Jaylen Brown Played with Partially Torn Meniscus During Playoffs

Boston Celtics star player Jaylen Brown finished the season with a partially torn right meniscus, according to sources close to the team.

Brown had been playing through pain during the last month of the regular season and into the playoffs, which concluded with a Game 6 loss to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

It is expected to be evaluated this week to determine if surgery is needed.

Previously, it was reported that Brown began receiving injections for pain in his knee in March.

Despite missing the last three games of the regular season due to injury, Brown managed to adapt his game and play through pain to be available in the playoffs, where he averaged 22.3 points and 7.2 rebounds in 34 minutes per game.

I’m not making excuses. Obviously, it’s tough the way we came out tonight, but the way we finished the year, personally, the way I finished the year, persevering through some physical issues I was battling, I’m proud of our group.
