Thanasis Antetokounmpo Re-signs with the Bucks
Forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who missed the entire 2024-25 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, has signed a new extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. The team announced this on Sunday, which means he will continue to be teammates with his brother, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s one-year deal is for $2.9 million, according to sources close to the situation.
Currently, the player is participating with the Greek national team in the EuroBasket.
Antetokounmpo, 33 years old, last played with the Bucks during the 2023-24 season, having a limited participation in 34 games from the bench and averaging less than a point per game. After being with the team since 2019, he was out of the Bucks’ roster last season while recovering from his injury.
In his career, he averages 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 7.7 minutes in 198 regular season games.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s renewal comes after the Bucks and representatives of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis, were expected to meet during the offseason to discuss future plans.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has played all 12 seasons of his NBA career with Milwaukee, and averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game last season.
