Los Angeles, USA – US Vice President JD Vance has issued a curious warning to tourists planning to visit the country during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held jointly with Canada and Mexico.

Vance: “They will have to go home”

During a press conference focused on the organization of the upcoming sporting events in the United States, Vance was clear: “I know we will have visitors, probably from nearly a hundred countries. Let them come. We want them to celebrate. We want them to watch the game, but when it’s over, they will have to go home.”

In a jocular tone, the vice president added that, in case of non-compliance, the visitors “will have to speak with Secretary (Kristy) Noem,” referring to the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.

This statement was made within the framework of the first joint working meeting, held on Tuesday, whose main objective is to coordinate preparations for next year’s World Cup, an event that will feature the participation of national teams from 48 countries.

At the meeting, in addition to Vance, were present the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, Secretary Noem and the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy.
