Trump Receives FIFA Peace Award
The former US President, Donald Trump, was awarded the first FIFA Peace Award. This recognition, created by FIFA, highlights the “extraordinary actions” of the former president in mediation processes in conflict zones. The award ceremony took place during the pre-draw event for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held in Washington, United States. The country will host the tournament along with Mexico and Canada. After receiving the trophy and a medal, Trump stated that “the world is now a safer place” and highlighted the role of his administration in several peace agreements reached. He also emphasized his “close collaboration” with the leaders of Mexico and Canada in organizing the 2026 World Cup.Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, defended the decision to award the prize, pointing out that Trump “undoubtedly deserves it for his actions and what he has achieved”.A year ago the United States was not doing well, and now we are the most thriving country in the world.
