Miami, USA – Businessman Tom Dundon, owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, has finalized a groundbreaking deal to acquire the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. The transaction, which exceeds $4 billion, was initially reported by ESPN. Dundon reached an agreement with the heirs of Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft and billionaire who controlled the Oregon franchise since his father’s death in 2018. The sale of the Trail Blazers was announced in May. According to the information available, the franchise will remain in Portland after the change of ownership. The financial agreement exceeds 4 billion dollars.

The revenue generated from the sale will be allocated to philanthropic projects, thus fulfilling the wishes of Paul Allen, who acquired the Trail Blazers in 1988 for 70 million dollars. This move represents a significant change in the NBA, marking a new era for the Trail Blazers.
