Santo Domingo, DR. Luis Severino and Brayan Bello will lead the pitching rotation in the two preparation games of the Dominican selection against the Detroit Tigers, as part of their preparation for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. These friendly matches are scheduled for March 3rd and 4th at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, serving as a prelude to the tournament that will begin on Friday, March 6th. The information was provided by the leader of the Dominican team, Albert Pujols, during the first joint practice at LoanDepot Park, venue for the Group D tournament games. The training session was supervised by the team’s general manager, Nelson Cruz, along with Pujols and the coaching staff, who led the work with great concentration and enthusiasm. In this practice, several of the Dominican stars of Major League Baseball coincided for the first time with the tricolor jersey, including Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., Julio Rodríguez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ketel Marte, Manny Machado, Geraldo Perdomo, Junior Caminero, Austin Wells, Carlos Santana, Jeremy Peña, Oneil Cruz, Amed Rosario and Agustín Ramírez. They participated in batting, fielding and defense exercises. The pitching staff included the presence of Sandy Alcántara, Carlos Estévez, Seranthony Domínguez, Camilo Doval, Wandy Peralta, Dennis Santana, Gregory Soto, Edwin Uceta, Huascar Brazobán, Abner Uribe, Albert Abreu and Cristopher Sánchez, who make up a staff with experience and power.

Several players, such as Soto, Tatis Jr., Machado, and Wells, expressed their pride in wearing the Dominican uniform in the World Baseball Classic, highlighting the responsibility of representing the country.

The day was characterized by camaraderie between players and coaching staff, with exchanges, smiles, and mutual support. The Dominican team will travel this Monday to Santo Domingo, where they will practice at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium before the games against Detroit.
