The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has announced the most outstanding players of the first installment of the MVP of the Week Award, corresponding to the period from October 15 to 20, 2025. The award winners are Miguel Ángel Sanó, from the Estrellas Orientales, and Aaron Sánchez, from the Toros del Este. The award, presented by Ron Ozama, recognizes weekly the most outstanding players of the fall-winter tournament. The selection is based on the votes of sports communicators who cover the league throughout the country.

Sanó leads the voting for position players

In the voting for position players, Miguel Ángel Sanó led the scrutiny with 63 votes (47%) out of a total of 134 voters. He surpassed Aderlin Rodríguez, from the Águilas Cibaeñas (32 votes, 23.9%), and rookie Felnin Celestén, from the Toros del Este (20 votes, 14%). Josh Lester (Estrellas), Bryant Torres and Mikey Gasper (Toros) also received support. During the evaluated week, Sanó participated in five games, connecting six hits in 19 at-bats, including two home runs and eight RBIs, for a batting average of .316, OBP .409, slugging .684 and an OPS of 1.093. The Stars recorded a 4-1 record in that period.

Sánchez dominates in the pitchers category

In the pitchers category, Aaron Sánchez was chosen with 75 votes (56.8%) out of 132 possible, surpassing the starting pitcher Grant Gavin, from the Leones del Escogido (42 votes, 31.8%). Sánchez had an outstanding performance in his only appearance of the week, pitching five complete innings of a single hit, with seven strikeouts and no walks, maintaining his perfect effectiveness at 0.00 ERA. Enny Romero (Estrellas Orientales) and Charlie Barnes (Águilas Cibaeñas) completed the voting, both with four votes (3%), while Esmil Rogers (Estrellas), César Valdez (Licey), and Jake Faria (Gigantes del Cibao) were also considered.
