KANSAS CITY – Salvador Pérez, the stellar Venezuelan catcher, has added a new golden chapter to his outstanding career in Major League Baseball. He has become the Latin American catcher with the most home runs in MLB history. This historic achievement was realized last Monday, during the match in which the Kansas City Royals fell 4-3 to the New York Yankees at Kauffman Stadium. Pérez hit an impressive home run against a sinker from pitcher Will Warren in the sixth inning. The ball traveled 422 feet to left-center field, marking the 312th home run of his career and the ninth of the season. With this spectacular hit, the experienced catcher surpassed the Puerto Rican Iván Rodríguez, who previously held the record. This milestone considers players who have played at least half of their games behind the plate. Additionally, Pérez tied George Brett as the player with the most home runs hit in the history of Kauffman Stadium, both with 136 home runs in the Kansas City stadium.
