Madrid – Real Madrid CF faces a major setback. Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes will be out of the fields for about ten days due to tendinosis in the hamstring of his right leg.
The club confirmed the injury after conducting medical tests on the player. Rodrygo had been experiencing discomfort that prevented him from training normally.
Objective: Return against Osasuna
The team aims to have Rodrygo available for the La Liga match against CA Osasuna, scheduled for February 21st. Furthermore, the player will not be able to participate in the first leg of the playoffs prior to the Champions League round of 16, which will be played on February 17th, due to a suspension.
Rodrygo was sent off in the 96th minute of the last European match against SL Benfica, following a decision by the referee. UEFA imposed a two-match ban for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Second physical setback of the year
This is the second time in 2026 that Rodrygo has suffered an injury. After the Spanish Super Cup final against FC Barcelona, the forward was also absent due to physical problems.
In recent matches, Rodrygo has had little participation, with limited minutes against Benfica and Rayo Vallecano.
The Real Madrid technical staff will closely monitor his recovery, with specific sessions to try to have him available in the final stretch of the season.
