Lando Norris demonstrated his dominance in the Free Practice 2 session of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, marked by incidents and red flags. The session, which had to be interrupted early due to problems with manhole covers, saw Norris set the fastest time.

Previously, Charles Leclerc led Free Practice 1 with a time of 1:34.802, generating optimism at Ferrari. However, in the second session, Leclerc placed third.

The Free Practice 2 session was interrupted with 20 minutes remaining due to a loose manhole cover in the third sector of the circuit. After a brief restart, the stewards decided to end the session due to the persistence of the problem.

Norris, with a time of 1:33.602, led the session with only thirteen laps completed, demonstrating McLaren’s potential. Andrea Kimi Antonelli placed second, just 0.029 seconds behind, raising Mercedes’ expectations.

Leclerc, winner of Free Practice 1, remained on the podium, demonstrating his competitiveness in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The red flags affected Max Verstappen, who finished in ninth position, and Óscar Piastri, in fourteenth. Other drivers such as Nico Hulkenberg, Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson and Alex Albon also stood out.

Lando Norris expressed feeling “better” with his MCL39 compared to previous years at this circuit. Despite being a “complicated circuit”, the Briton is confident in fighting for pole position and scoring important points.

Max Verstappen, for his part, warned about the track conditions, considering it “very cold and slippery”.

Óscar Piastri was optimistic about the improvement throughout the weekend, highlighting the “decent” pace shown with the McLaren.
