DCNB Celebrates Christmas with Children from La Zurza
The Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner (DCNB), headed by the national commissioner and former Major League player, Junior Noboa, held a Christmas lunch for the benefit of the children and young people who are part of the baseball leagues of La Zurza. The event, which lasted for more than three hours, allowed Noboa to share directly with more than a hundred children, coaches, and community residents, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere typical of the Christmas season. The lunch included fruits and refreshments, and was received with gratitude by those present. In addition, raffles were held and balls and gloves were given to the children belonging to the six baseball leagues in the sector. Noboa toured the tables, sharing with the children and encouraging them to continue developing in baseball without neglecting their academic training, emphasizing the importance of education for their personal and social growth. The commissioner highlighted that La Zurza is a priority sector for the DCNB, which constantly supports its leagues with the delivery of sports materials and support for its events, in fulfillment of its commitment to the development of grassroots baseball. These actions reflect President Luis Abinader’s will to bring the State institutions closer to the most needy communities. We are very pleased to share this lunch on the occasion of the Christmas holidays with the children and coaches of the La Zurza leagues, who do an admirable job guiding these young people on the path of good.
Junior Noboa

Noboa also extended his gratitude to the Economic Dining Rooms of the Dominican State, to its director Edgar Félix, and to Tony Romas and Sanut, for their collaboration in the realization of the event. It’s the first time a state entity has come to La Zurza and offered a lunch of this magnitude, as well as holding raffles for the children. We are very grateful.
