Kevin Durant leaves the Suns and arrives at the Rockets

Kevin Durant’s time with the Phoenix Suns has come to an end. After two and a half seasons in Arizona, Durant has been traded to the Houston Rockets, marking a new chapter in his career. The Rockets were shaping up to be one of the favorite destinations for Durant, along with the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, in the event of a trade. Ultimately, Houston won the negotiation. The trade involves Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the number 10 pick in this year’s draft, and five second-round picks, which the Rockets sent to the Suns. Houston, who finished second in the regular season, was looking for a player capable of leading the offense after a disappointing performance in the playoffs, where they were eliminated in the first round. The next season will be Durant’s sixteenth, who at 36 years old continues to prove to be a star in the league. Durant surpassed the scoring statistics of any player on his new team, averaging 26.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 5.7 rebounds last season. Durant, with a salary of 54 million, becomes the highest-paid player for the Rockets, surpassing Sengun and VanVleet. With this trade, the Suns end the Booker-Durant era and receive Jalen Green, a talented young player, and a valuable draft pick.
