Moca Heroes Dominate Santo Domingo Lions in the LNB Super League
Santo Domingo – Los Héroes de Moca demonstrated their superiority on the court and achieved a convincing victory over the Leones de Santo Domingo with a final score of 102-85, in a match corresponding to the Super Liga LNB held in the sports complex of the San Carlos club.
The Moca team built their triumph on a solid defense that forced 23 turnovers by the Leones, 18 of them in the first half. This aspect was crucial in securing their second win of the season (2-3), while the Leones suffered their fourth defeat (1-4).
John Clark Jr. was the offensive figure for the Heroes, accumulating 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Caleb Huffman also had an outstanding performance with 18 points. Jayson Valdez contributed significantly with eight points, 10 assists, and six steals.
From the Lions, Reggie Quezada scored 17 points, despite losing eight balls, and Gerardo Suero contributed 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Heroes took the lead from the first quarter and extended their advantage in the second period, reaching a difference of up to 20 points before halftime. Their intense defensive pressure generated multiple steals and baskets in transition.
Although the Lions tried to react in the third quarter, reducing the difference to 12 points, the mocanos maintained control of the match and secured the victory without further complications in the final stretch.
On Sunday’s game day, the Cañeros del Este will receive the Marineros de Puerto Plata, while the Titanes del Sur will face the Soles del Este in San Cristóbal.
