Moca FC Starts the Season with Victory in the Cibao Classic

SANTIAGO. – Moca Fútbol Club began its participation in the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF) with an important victory, defeating Cibao FC 0-1. This inaugural match was dedicated to the memory of José Rafael Abinader, a key figure in the development of football.

The only goal of the match came in the 38th minute, courtesy of Gustavo Ascona, who finished an impressive collective play. The action began with a volley from Sabella, followed by an assist from De Peña, which left Ascona in a position to define with precision.

In the second half, at minute 53, Carlos Ventura attempted a shot from outside the area, but his shot did not achieve the goal. Moca’s defense, under the direction of Jorge Alfonso, remained firm.

Pascual Ramírez, goalkeeper of Moca FC, had an outstanding performance, making crucial saves in the 59th, 80th and 85th minutes, which prevented Cibao FC from tying the score.

The match extended five minutes beyond regular time, but Moca FC’s defense remained solid, securing the three points in this start of the Dominican Republic Football League season.
