Dominican tourism supports the baseball team for the Olympic Games
Miami – The Ministry of Tourism, led by David Collado, has confirmed its official sponsorship of the Dominican baseball team. This support extends to their participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles, demonstrating the government’s commitment to sports and the international promotion of the Dominican Republic. The announcement was made at LoanDepot Park, during the World Baseball Classic semi-final between the Dominican Republic and the United States. Collado explained that this initiative is part of a strategy to boost sports tourism and strengthen the country’s image globally.The minister highlighted the positive impact of the team’s performance in the World Baseball Classic, especially in the American market, the main source of tourists to the Dominican Republic. Also present at the event were Kelvin Cruz, Minister of Sports; Nelson Cruz, general manager of the team; and Juan Núñez, president of the Dominican Baseball Federation. All of them acknowledged the government’s support for national baseball. Nelson Cruz highlighted the importance of institutional support for the team’s formation and the strengthening of the Dominican baseball structure. The authorities agreed that the performance of the Dominican team has generated enthusiasm among fans and has contributed to projecting the country’s image in international sporting events.“The Ministry of Tourism is going to strongly support the Federation for the Los Angeles Olympics. This is a commitment we are making because that medal belongs to the Dominican Republic,” said Collado.
