This injury represents a new setback for Militao, who has already experienced long-term physical problems in previous seasons. In the 2024/25 season, Militao was out for eight months due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament and damage to the meniscus in his right knee.
In August 2023, he suffered the same injury, but in his left knee, missing a large part of the 2023/24 season.
Since his first serious injury, he has only played 46 matches out of the 146 played by Real Madrid.

Militao is expected to return to activity in April 2026.
