The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) has announced Luis “Pipe” Urueta as the Manager of the Year for the 2025-2026 season, recognizing his outstanding work at the helm of the Águilas Cibaeñas.

Urueta led the Águilas Cibaeñas to dominate the Regular Season of the tournament, dedicated to Don Juan Marichal and in dispute of the BanReservas Cup. The leader received broad support in the vote of the accredited reporters, obtaining 315 points, the result of 55 first-place votes, 13 second-place votes and one third-place vote. He surpassed Víctor Estévez, from the Toros del Este, and José Leger, from the Gigantes del Cibao.

The selection was made by a panel of 69 voters, including communicators without ties to the franchises, members of press departments and broadcast networks, Dominican journalists in the United States, international reporters, and representatives from different provinces, ensuring a balanced process.

The LIDOM regulations establish a weighted voting system, awarding five points to first place, three to second, and one to third.

This award joins other recognitions received by members of the Cibaeña organization. Alberto Rodríguez was chosen Rookie of the Year, and Gian Guzmán received the Executive of the Year award.
