Toros del Este Protest Against Game Against Águilas Cibaeñas
The Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) announced this Friday that the Toros del Este filed a formal protest regarding Thursday’s game at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium against the Águilas Cibaeñas, corresponding to the Round Robin of the 2025-26 tournament.
The protest was filed within the regulatory timeframe of twelve hours after the end of the game, complying with article 23 of the Tournament Regulations.
LIDOM has already communicated the content of the protest to the Águilas Cibaeñas team, giving them twelve hours to present their defense.
Once the documentation from the Águilas is received, the LIDOM presidency will have three hours to issue a final decision.
Due to deadlines, the final resolution may not be available before Friday’s matches.
Any impact on the Round Robin ranking will depend on the final ruling on the protest by the Toros del Este.
La Liga reaffirmed its commitment to compliance with the regulations and the transparency of the tournament.
