Garibaldy Bautista Meets with Waterskiing Executives for the 2026 Games

The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Garibaldy Bautista, met with a delegation of national and international water skiers to discuss the preparations for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The meeting’s main objective was to address the concerns and needs of this sports discipline in preparation for the important regional event. Key figures such as Mario Pigozzi, president of the Dominican Water Ski Federation, and José Antonio Pérez Priego, head of the International Water Ski Federation, were present at the meeting. The delegation also included the participation of Diego Restrepo, international technical director, and Canaido Moz, president of the technical committee of the international organization. During the meeting, the managers expressed their concerns about the facility that will host the water skiing competitions in the games, which will be held from July 24 to August 8 in the country. The representatives of the international federation presented a detailed report on the scenario, based on a technical survey carried out previously. This report specifies the aspects that must be completed to meet the event requirements. Furthermore, it was announced that a final technical inspection will be carried out in June, as a preliminary step to the competitions.

Engineer Bautista reiterated the Dominican Olympic Committee’s commitment to work in a coordinated manner with sports federations and the organizing committee of the games to ensure the success of water skiing in the regional event.

The Olympic leader also pledged to relay the concerns presented to the organizing committee, in order to ensure that the competition venue is in optimal condition. The delegation expressed its gratitude for the support of the Olympic body, highlighting the importance of collaboration for the technical and organizational development of water skiing in the country.
