Santo Domingo. Gardeners Junior Lake, Sócrates Brito, and Mel Rojas Jr. head the list of players from the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) who will be available for the exhibition games against the Detroit Tigers.
These meetings are scheduled for March 3rd and 4th at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium.
The group of players joining the team includes catcher Pedro Severino and pitchers Enny Romero, Óscar de la Cruz, Phillips Valdez, and Jimmy Cordero. All will be under the direction of Albert Pujols, as a complement to the national team preparing for the World Baseball Classic.
This initiative responds to a request from the management led by Nelson Cruz, considering the preparatory nature of these meetings. Participation in this scenario offers a valuable competitive opportunity for the players.
These players will have the opportunity to showcase their talent to Major League organizations, which could strengthen their prospects in professional baseball.
The called-up players have expressed their enthusiasm and pride in being part of this experience. This series of matches will allow the Santo Domingo public to enjoy the national team facing an MLB team on Dominican soil.
