SANTO DOMINGO – The Athletic Club Licey congratulated the Leones del Escogido for their 18th championship in the autumn-winter baseball tournament of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
The blue team’s directive, led by engineer Miguel Guerra Armenteros, sent their congratulations to the scarlet team through their president, Eduardo Najri, highlighting the sporting achievement obtained in the recent season.
El Licey, with 24 titles in Dominican winter baseball since its founding on November 7, 1907, extended its recognition to general manager Carlos Peña and manager Ramón Santiago, for their work at the helm of the champion team.
The congratulatory message also included the players, coaching staff, directors, administrative staff and the fans of the Leones del Escogido, who are celebrating a new championship in the history of the franchise.
The Leones del Escogido won the Final Series with a score of 4-1, facing the Toros del Este, thus securing their 18th title.
