Lions of Santo Domingo Strengthen with Sterling Manley for the Elimination Phase

Santo Domingo – Los Leones de Santo Domingo announce the incorporation of the American center Sterling Manley as their new imported player for the elimination phase of the Super League 2025. Manley, standing at 6’11” and 26 years old, returns to Dominican basketball after his outstanding performance with the Reales de La Vega in the 2024 season. In his previous stint in the tournament, Manley averaged 12.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. He led in blocks and ranked second in rebounds during the regular season. His performance was crucial for his former team to reach the semifinals and subsequently the final of the tournament. He accumulated a total efficiency of 450 in 14 matches, establishing himself as a dominant figure in the paint. The Lions’ new reinforcement will replace Brendan Medley-Bacon.

Sterling Manley’s International Experience

Trained at the University of North Carolina, Manley has experience in the NBA G-League, playing with the Rip City Remix team in 2025. He has also participated in the NBA Summer League and has played professional basketball in China, in addition to his experience in the Dominican Republic. Manley has the versatility to play as center and power forward, standing out for his defensive performance, rebounding control and offensive ability in the painted area. The Santo Domingo Lions continue to strengthen their team to face the decisive phase of the tournament, with the aim of conquering the championship and continuing to make their mark on the LNB.
