Astros Bolster Bullpen with Héctor Neris’ Return

The Houston Astros have finalized the return of experienced reliever Héctor Neris, announcing the signing of the 36-year-old right-handed pitcher this Saturday. This represents the third stage of Neris with the Astros, the team with which he was World Series champion in 2022. Previously, Neris was in the current season with the Los Angeles Angels, where he recorded a 3-0 record with an ERA of 5.14 in 21 appearances. Throughout his 12 seasons in the Major Leagues, Neris has a record of 46-42 with an ERA of 3.44 in 631 appearances, all as a reliever. Neris will use the number 50 again with the Astros and was already with the team for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. To make room on the roster, right-handed pitcher Jason Alexander was sent to Triple-A Sugar Land.
