LeBron James Guides Lakers to Epic Comeback Against Rockets
HOUSTON – LeBron James proved once again that age is just a number by leading an amazing comeback by the Los Angeles Lakers, who defeated the Houston Rockets with a score of 112-108 in overtime. With this victory, the Lakers take a 3-0 lead in their first-round series of the Western Conference playoffs.
The Los Angeles team seemed destined for defeat, trailing 95-101 with only 41 seconds remaining in the final quarter. However, James’ experience and leadership changed the course of the game. The veteran player tied the score with a crucial three-pointer after recovering a key ball, forcing overtime.
In overtime, the Lakers capitalized on the emotional impact on Houston, securing the victory at the Toyota Center. James had a dominant performance, accumulating 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists in 45 minutes of play, being fundamental on both sides of the court.
Waiting for Luka Doncic’s return and with the possible reincorporation of Austin Reaves in the next game, the Lakers had the support of Marcus Smart, who contributed 21 points and 10 assists. Rui Hachimura also stood out, adding 22 units.
From Houston’s side, Kevin Durant’s absence was felt in the final stretch. Despite Alperen Sengun’s 33 points and 16 rebounds and Amen Thompson’s 26 points, the Rockets failed to maintain the lead and fell again in overtime.
The fourth game of the series will be played again in Houston, where the Lakers will seek to complete the sweep and advance to the next round.
