Knicks Crush Cavaliers and Advance to the NBA Finals
The New York Knicks demonstrated their superiority by sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, securing their spot in the NBA Finals with a resounding 130-93 victory in the fourth game.
This triumph marks the Knicks’ return to the Finals for the first time since 1999. The New York franchise will seek its first championship since 1973.
The Knicks have had a dominant postseason, with a record of 12 wins and only two losses, both in the first round against the Atlanta Hawks. Since then, they have accumulated eleven consecutive victories, including sweeps over the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cavaliers.
In the decisive encounter in Cleveland, the Knicks took control from the start. A 20-0 run between the first and second quarters gave them a significant lead of 50-26, setting the tone of the game.
Although the Cavaliers tried to react, the Knicks responded with another offensive to maintain the distance. In the last quarter, the visitors extended their lead to 45 points.
Karl-Anthony Towns stood out with another double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. OG Anunoby contributed 17 points, Landry Shamet added 16, and Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges contributed 15 points each.
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 31 points, followed by Evan Mobley with 15 and James Harden with 12, but his team couldn’t match the Knicks’ performance.
The Knicks now await the winner of the Western Conference series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, who are currently tied 2-2.
