BOSTON – The New York Knicks showed their ability to react by overcoming a 20-point deficit and defeating the Boston Celtics 91-90 in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
Karl-Anthony Towns stood out with a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds. Josh Hart led the Knicks’ offense with 23 points. Mikal Bridges was crucial, scoring 14 points in the final quarter, including a steal that sealed the victory. Jalen Brunson also contributed with 17 points, securing the lead with free throws with 12.7 seconds remaining.
Despite dominating much of the game, Boston’s offense stalled in the final quarter, with more than eight minutes without scoring a field goal. Jayson Tatum, limited to 13 points, had a discreet performance.
Jaylen Brown and Derrick White each scored 20 points for the Celtics, who missed 30 of their 40 three-point attempts. Kristaps Porzingis, returning from an illness, contributed 8 points in 14 minutes.With this victory, the Knicks are in a favorable position. Game 3 will be played this Saturday at Madison Square Garden, where New York will seek to increase its lead.
