Dominicans Marte and Perdomo Lead the Diamondbacks in Sweep of the Giants
Phoenix, Arizona – Dominican players Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo were key figures in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ victory over the San Francisco Giants, securing the sweep in the series with a final score of 6-3.
Ketel Marte continued his offensive streak by hitting a two-run home run in the third inning, adding his second home run in consecutive nights. The infielder had an outstanding performance, scoring three runs and reaching base four times, missing a triple to complete the cycle.
Mars’ performance has been remarkable, especially after deciding Tuesday’s game with a three-run home run in the ninth inning, consolidating his excellent offensive momentum.
Geraldo Perdomo also contributed significantly, driving in three runs, including a two-run double in the fifth inning, which extended Arizona’s lead to 6-3.
Diamondbacks’ starting pitcher Merrill Kelly had a solid performance, working six innings in which he allowed three runs and eight hits, earning the win and his third consecutive quality start. Kelly was coming off pitching the first complete game of his career last week against Colorado.

San Francisco, for its part, took the lead initially thanks to a home run by Casey Schmitt in the first inning, but could not maintain the pace against the Diamondbacks’ offense.
Tyler Mahle, the Giants’ pitcher, was the one who took the loss, allowing six runs and eight hits in five innings. The Giants have suffered six defeats in their last eight games, moving away from the fight in the standings.
