Minister Kelvin Cruz Kicks Off the Remodeling of the Multipurpose Hall in Piedra Blanca

Monsignor Nouel. The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, led on Wednesday the start of the renovation work of the Multipurpose Hall of Piedra Blanca, in this province, with an investment of RD$21,423,872. This initiative is part of the sports infrastructure improvement plan promoted by the government of President Luis Abinader throughout the country.

We have come to continue the sports revolution that we are carrying out from the Ministry of Sports throughout the national territory, and Piedra Blanca could not be the exception.

Minister Cruz highlighted that the roof, which shows an advanced level of deterioration, will be completely renovated for the benefit of the local community. The remodeling work covers an area of 1,507.37 square meters and will include:
  • Renovation of the play area with professional scoreboards certified by FIBA.
  • Installation of digital scoreboards and a 24-second clock.
  • Installation of synthetic flooring for various sports disciplines.
  • Remodeling of administrative offices, bathrooms, changing rooms, and cafeteria.
  • Repair and maintenance of the metal structure and the electrical system.
  • Supply and installation of metal straps and aluzinc on the roof.
The project also includes cement work with chain-link mesh, general painting, and the construction of a large cistern. In the ceremony, provincial authorities were present, including Governor Adela Tejada Gil, mayors Pedro Contreras Burgos and Eberto Núñez Núñez, and Vice Minister Samuel Taveras. The act was blessed by the priest Silvano González.
