Santo Domingo – Dominican Julio Rodriguez shined with the bat by hitting a home run in the Seattle Mariners’ 11-9 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, in a game full of long hits.

Rodríguez joined Will Wilson and Cole Young on Seattle’s home run list. Venezuelan Leo Rivas was key in hitting a two-run single in the ninth inning, securing the victory against reliever Riley O’Brien.

The game remained contested until the end, with the Mariners tying the score at 9 runs in the eighth inning thanks to a timely hit by Connor Joe, before taking the lead in the final inning.

Matt Brash earned the win for Seattle, pitching a scoreless eighth inning, while Mexican Andrés Muñoz secured the victory by earning his fifth save of the season.

The Cardinals also displayed their offensive power with several home runs, including two by Nathan Church and back-to-back homers by JJ Wetherholt and Iván Herrera early in the game, but they failed to hold the lead.

The match was characterized by its high offensive pace, with constant changes in the score and an exciting finish that favored Seattle.
