Santo Domingo – The Doctor Rafael Barias Club adds Jeff Allen to its ranks, a 6’7″ American center-forward, as its second foreign reinforcement for the National District Men’s Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS Distrito) 2025, which will begin on September 20.
The information was confirmed by Yerkin Agustín Figuereo, Operations Director of the Bariano team. Figuereo highlighted that Allen will provide solidity in the paint area, both in defense against tall players and in capturing rebounds.
Allen, a graduate of DePaul University, is a well-known figure in the Dominican Republic, with experience in the National Basketball League (LNB) with the Cañeros del Este, and in important provincial tournaments such as the TBS Distrital and TBS Santiago, where he was recognized as the “Best center” in 2023.
The 36-year-old player also has international experience, having participated in leagues in Cyprus, Hungary (Kaspovari KK), the second division of France, Israel, and Lithuania.
The “Barias”, which will be directed by Yoel Feliz in this 2025 season of the TBS Distrital, had already announced Austin Trice as its first foreign reinforcement. In addition, it will have the incorporation of Edgar Sosa, an experienced point guard and former member of the national basketball team.
The Villa Consuelo team has been champion of the capital’s superior basketball in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2019. In the 2024 season it reached the semifinals and in 2023 the final.
